Purchase Officer (P&M and Transportation)

Seeking a seasoned Purchase Officer to spearhead procurement of heavy plant machinery and manage transportation logistics for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal for ensuring cost-effective mobilization of construction equipment across major bridge and road sites.

• Sourcing and onboarding reliable vendors for specialized machinery like cranes, hydra, transit mixers, and excavators. Negotiating competitive hire rates and managing the release of Purchase Orders and Hire Orders. Overseeing the seamless transportation of construction materials and heavy equipment to various project sites. Performing detailed rate comparisons and maintaining a robust vendor database for compliance. Liaising closely with site engineers and accounts departments to ensure timely equipment deployment and cost control.

• Degree or Diploma holder, with a preference for Mechanical or Civil Engineering backgrounds. Minimum 10 years of solid experience specifically in machinery hiring and transportation logistics. Proven track record in the infrastructure sector, ideally in bridge, road, or flyover projects. Exceptional negotiation skills and an extensive network within the Indian construction vendor market.
