Skilled Structural and Framework Fitter

We are looking for an experienced Fitter to lead the assembly of complex structural frameworks and housings. Join our dedicated production team and showcase your expertise in interpreting blueprints and working with heavy steel components.

• Fit and assemble structural frameworks from materials like angle iron, I-beams, and plate steel.
• Accurately lay out part dimensions on worktables using squares, chalk lines, and soapstone.
• Create custom jigs by tack-welding scrap metal to ensure precise assembly alignment.
• Perform filing, chiseling, and grinding of parts to ensure a perfect fit as per specifications.
• Utilize acetylene torches for heating, bending, and hardening metal parts in cyanide baths.
• Direct and supervise Fitter Helpers during the tack-welding process and final assembly.
• Verify all assembly dimensions periodically using rules, squares, and calipers against blueprints.

• Proven experience in structural fitting and industrial assembly processes.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and materials lists.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, grinding equipment, and basic welding machinery.
• Knowledge of heat treatment and metal bending techniques using anvils or vises.
• High precision and attention to detail in dimensional checks.
