MRTC is seeking a Railway Traffic Expert to bridge the gap between civil engineering and operational reality. You will ensure that track layouts, signaling, and station designs support network safety and service frequency requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Define rail system operational concepts, including headway requirements and speed profiles.
Perform capacity modeling and simulation using software like OpenTrack, RailSys, or Viriato.
Optimize signaling placement and interlocking designs based on braking distances and traffic density.
Ensure infrastructure compatibility with platform heights, curve radii, and gradients.
Optimize station track geometry to minimize dwell times and improve shunting efficiency.
Conduct formal safety and risk assessments regarding junctions and switches.
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, or Systems Engineering.
High proficiency in rail traffic simulation tools for data-backed recommendations.
Deep understanding of international standards such as UIC, TSI, or AREMA.
Ability to interpret complex CAD drawings and railway alignment plans.
Strong background in railway infrastructure interface and safety integrity levels (SIL).
