Model Validation Specialist - Credit Risk

We are seeking a highly analytical Model Validation Specialist to join our Model Risk & Validation team. You will lead independent reviews and technical validations of credit risk models to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Conduct end-to-end independent validations for credit risk models (PD, EAD, LGD) for IRB and IFRS 9.
• Track and manage validation findings and review evidence for closure.
• Produce qualitative and quantitative analysis for senior management reporting.
• Support Model Risk BAU management and policy development.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Model Development, and Business functions.
• Implement best practices in line with PRA and regulatory expectations.

• Degree in a highly numerate field (Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics).
• Experience in model development or validation (PD, EAD, LGD) across retail/corporate portfolios.
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling techniques.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with UK regulatory environments (PRA Rulebook, SS1/23).
