Roles & Responsibilities:
Review medical charts to ascribe related CPT and ICD-10 codes accurately
Assign codes based on specific coding and customer guidelines
Maintain over 97% accuracy across outpatient and inpatient charts
Perform edits according to the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI)
Analyze causes of claim denials to improve coding standards
Document feedback on clinical documentation errors at facility levels
Requirements:
2 to 5 years of professional experience in medical coding
Core expertise in Surgery specialty coding is essential
Certifications such as CPC, COC, or CCS from AAPC/AHIMA are desired
In-depth knowledge of US healthcare industry and regulatory requirements
Strong proficiency in CPT and ICD-10 guidelines
