Machine Learning Engineer - BX Recs Team

• Develop and deploy advanced AI models to production with direct impact on buyer experience. Build and maintain large-scale data pipelines and distributed applications using big data technologies. Influence the evolution of recommender systems using multimodal unstructured data from billions of items. Integrate production systems with Google GCP Vertex AI platforms to enhance item recommendation algorithms. Collaborate with applied research teams to drive marketplace GMB and advertising revenue. Optimize deep learning-based retrieval systems and machine-learned ranking models for high-traffic environments.

• MS in Computer Science or related field with 1+ years of experience, or BS/BA with 3+ years of relevant work. Proven expertise in building large-scale distributed applications using Scala, Java, or similar languages. Experience working with NoSQL databases and key-value stores like MongoDB or Redis. Hands-on experience with big data pipelines such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink is a major plus. Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), is highly desirable. Strong interest in AI applied research, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt engineering.
